Job Description

Our client, a leading organization dedicated to comprehensive healthcare and community wellness, is hiring a Vice President of Behavioral Health. This high-impact role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape behavioral health services within a dynamic, community-focused setting. As Vice President of Behavioral Health, you will serve as a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all outpatient and inpatient behavioral health programs, including substance use disorder services certified under OASAS Part 820. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that aligns with regulatory standards and organizational goals. You will play a vital role in developing innovative programs, fostering collaboration across departments, and advocating for behavioral health at community, state, and national levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing executive oversight for behavioral health services, including mental health and substance use disorder programs.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to expand and optimize behavioral health offerings.
  • Leading clinical supervision, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices, and promoting quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations such as OASAS, OMH, DOH, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including budgeting, staffing, program development, and performance metrics.
  • Managing financial aspects, including budget development, revenue cycle management, and grant reporting.
  • Acting as the organizational representative with regulators, funders, community partners, and advocacy organizations.

Requirements:

  • MSW Degree and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in New York State.
  • Valid Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification.
  • 10+ years of experience as a behavioral health provider in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing OASAS Part 820 residential programs and substance use disorder services.
  • Strong understanding of integrated care models within FQHC or community health environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, program development, and budget management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
