Job Description
Our client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgeon. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated surgeon to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives while benefiting from the stability and support of a respected healthcare institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of vascular conditions, performing complex surgical procedures, and managing post-operative care. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical procedures to treat vascular conditions such as aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, and varicose veins
- Evaluate patient history and conduct thorough physical examinations
- Order and interpret advanced diagnostic studies including ultrasounds and angiograms
- Develop individualized treatment plans in alignment with best practices and patient needs
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other clinical professionals
- Provide clear education and guidance to patients on vascular health, surgery, and recovery
- Ensure adherence to infection control and hospital protocols throughout the patient care journey
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of a General Surgery residency and a Vascular Surgery fellowship
- Board Certification in Vascular Surgery
- Valid New York state medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong clinical skills in diagnostic evaluation, open and endovascular procedures, and post-op management
- Familiarity with relevant hospital systems and protocols, including infection control, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Additional exposure to cardiology, neonatology, or critical care is a plus
