Job Description

Our client, a rapidly expanding Accounts Receivables management firm dedicated to streamlining revenue cycle processes, is hiring a dedicated A/R Medical Biller/Follow-up Specialist. As an essential member of the billing team, the A/R Follow-Up Medical Biller is responsible for proactively managing insurance claim follow-up activities to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. This role involves engaging directly with insurance carriers, tracking claim statuses, troubleshooting delays, and maintaining detailed documentation to support efficient collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Log onto insurance carrier websites to update claim information and monitor statuses.
  • Contact insurance carriers via phone to obtain claim status updates.
  • Take comprehensive notes during calls and document interactions accurately within the company's system.
  • Identify issues halting the claim process, such as incomplete information or errors.
  • Take corrective actions or escalate issues to ensure claims are resolved promptly.
  • Verify and update members’ demographic and insurance information as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve claim delays and improve collection rates.
  • Hybrid work schedule: one day per week onsite with flexible remote options.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in A/R follow-up or medical billing.
  • Familiarity with insurance carriers and their online portals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve claim issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of billing and coding practices is advantageous.
  • Experience with in-house systems or EMR/EHR platforms, especially EPIC, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
