Job Description

Our client, a well-established healthcare organization known for its commitment to excellence and operational efficiency, is hiring a Revenue Cycle Director. This critical role oversees the end-to-end revenue cycle performance within a busy medical practice, ensuring seamless billing and collections processes to optimize revenue and reduce financial risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all steps of the revenue cycle, including insurance verification, eligibility, charge review, payment posting, AR follow-up, denials, appeals, and collections.
  • Oversee AR performance across all payer categories, with particular focus on accounts over 120 days and high-risk payers such as Workers’ Compensation.
  • Lead cash application, reconciliation, and revenue reporting to maximize collections and minimize write-offs.
  • Support team management by coaching, conducting regular check-ins, and partnering with HR on performance and development.
  • Review key KPIs such as AR aging, denial rates, days sales outstanding, and write-offs to ensure operational excellence.
  • Drive workflow and process improvements to reduce rework, minimize denials, and increase speed to payment.
  • Ensure compliance with payer rules, contracts, and internal audit standards.
  • Partner with IT and leadership on billing system enhancements, system training, and identifying revenue leakage points.
  • Perform additional duties aligned with organizational goals, including team engagement and workload management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing revenue cycle operations in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of professional billing, workers’ comp, and commercial insurance billing.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, improve processes, and optimize revenue.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret KPI reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with billing technology, clearinghouses, payer portals, and TPA systems.
  • Certifications in revenue cycle management or related fields are a plus.
