Job Description
Our client, a leading academic medical center, has an opening for a Regional Director of Operations in South Florida.
The Regional Director of Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership to drive optimal financial, clinical, and operational performance for the ambulatory care facilities in the Florida region including direct oversight of the new Family Ambulatory Care Center in West Palm Beach. Reporting to the Senior Regional Director, this role will collaborate with the Ambulatory Operations and Clinical Affairs senior leadership team to achieve the region’s strategic patient experience, operational, clinical and financial goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans and annual targets for all ambulatory practices in the region to drive financial growth, improve patient quality of care, and enhance operational performance of ambulatory services provided.
- Under the direction of senior leadership, develop and execute launch plan for new Ambulatory Care Center ensuring that the facility is fully operational and meets all relevant compliance and legal standards, workforce is properly staffed and trained, and all technology and medical equipment is set up well before launch date. Additionally, partner with Clinical Affairs senior leadership to develop and execute an engaging multiprong marketing, advertising and communications strategy that drives brand awareness and recognition in the local communities.
- Coordinate with Clinical Affairs senior leadership team and regional practice management to assess, design, and lead initiatives aimed at developing future growth strategies, while adhering to standardized best practices of operational efficiency and patient access
- Operationalize the strategic directives of senior management by overseeing ambulatory operational teams to ensure that the patient experience, organizational policies and protocols, and internal processes are delivered in a manner consistent with the world class standards. Policies and procedures must be routinely reviewed and monitored to streamline workflows, reduce wait times, enhance efficiency, and provide a market leading patient experience.
- Steward financial excellence by partnering with senior leadership to develop regional financial goals and implement initiatives focused on resource expense management and revenue optimization to ensure financial targets are consistently met. Regularly report on financial performance related to revenue goals, budget expectations, and other key KPI’s.
- Drive revenue optimization and business development by executing engaging community outreach and marketing strategies.
- Drive clinical excellence and optimize the patient experience across the region by collaborating with physicians and clinical leaders to align operational strategies with clinical priorities and patient service needs. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, patient safety, and service excellence. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Partner with physicians and clinical leaders to ensure that patient care and logistics are coordinated and delivered with the highest level of service.
- Optimize the region’s capability for delivering high quality care by developing and maintaining relationships with affiliate hospitals to facilitate access and high-quality patient care. Ensure that clinical leaders effectively partner with clinical leadership teams of affiliate hospitals to ensure patient procedures and care plans are completed and that an excellent patient experience is delivered.
- Foster operational excellence by effectively communicating and establishing forums for routine updates and progress reports. Lead effective change management processes to ensure the successful use and adoption of new tools, processes and policies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse team of people leaders and individual contributors. Effectively lead the team by ensuring effective staff training and evaluating team performance. Identify training and development needs and support staff growth and development initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in ambulatory operations, healthcare management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of ambulatory care delivery models, outpatient services, and healthcare industry trends.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, achieving strategic objectives, and leading successful teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Ability to develop and maintain complex relationships with physicians, staff, patients, peer institutions, etc.
