The Radiology Business Manager oversees registration, budgeting, financial forecasting, and revenue cycle operations across a radiology system with 10+ locations. Direct reports include a Support Services Supervisor, radiology authorization unit, registration teams, and a coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Oversight:
- Supervise radiology registration and authorization teams to ensure compliance, performance, and point-of-service collections.
- Ensure advanced imaging services are authorized accurately and on time.
Training & Development:
- Equip staff with the skills needed for efficient performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets for radiology and lab business areas to meet financial targets.
New Business Planning:
- Develop and present proposals for new or expanded service opportunities.
Revenue Cycle & Financial Management:
- Analyze and address insurance denial trends.
- Ensure timely updates for CPT code changes and manage unbilled accounts.
- Collaborate with Directors to review expense variances and share departmental metrics.
Customer Service:
- Oversee service recovery and ensure staff deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Project Management:
- Lead performance improvement initiatives, revenue cycle enhancements, and system projects.
Contract Management:
- Manage vendor contracts as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, or Public Health required.
- 2–5 years in healthcare management with business operations, revenue cycle, and coding expertise.
- Experience in business development and performance improvement preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Epic experience preferred.
- Leadership capability for large teams.
- Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
