Job Description

Our client, a nationally renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently hiring a Quality/Safety Manager. The position is responsible for establishment, implementation, and monitoring standard policies and procedures for monitoring and evaluation of the effective management, safety, and operation of equipment.  The quality control program is designed to minimize patient, personnel, and public radiation risks and to maximize the quality of the diagnostic information for the safety of patients and personnel.
This individual will partner with the Clinical Director of Quality & Safety, and work with the Medical Directors and leadership across all sites along with a qualified medical physicist to perform and monitor equipment performance.  The Quality Safety Manager need to be aware of infection control precautions and the use of clean or aseptic techniques as warranted by the procedure or intervention being performed. 
He/she will be responsible for systematic review of dose optimization, peer review, radiation safety, contrast extravasation, and misadministration.  Data collection need to comply with statutory and regulatory peer-review procedures to ensure the confidentiality of the peer-review process. 
  • Develop and review all registries and departmental quality and safety KPIs.
  • Maintain Radiology Policy & Procedures, including radiation safety, MRI safety, universal protocol, and Joint Commission requirements. Provide training and staff development programs. Keep trainers and staff up to date on current techniques.
  • Develop and conduct relevant training and educational sessions in quality, patient safety , and PI for associates.
  • Ensure Departmental Inspection Readiness & Compliance (e.g. Joint Commission, ACR-DICOE, DOH).
  • Coordinates, submits and tracks peer review.  Maintains and submits appropriate documentation.  Educates and assists physicians with event reporting.  Analyzes, tracks and compares physician event outcomes with national criteria and provides physician peer review feedback. 
A Bachelor’s degree is required, A Master’s degree is preferred, RT/RN preferred. He/she must be familiar with radiation safety, MRI safety, universal protocol, and all regulatory (JCAHO and NYS) requirements.
Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PM 

Salary Range: The posted salary range is not a guarantee. The actual salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and education and could fall outside of this range.
