Description: Hiring a Psychiatrist for one of the largest multispecialty practices in the New York metro area. The Psychiatrist is a practicing clinician and is responsible for driving clinical quality and service excellence in the field of behavioral health. In this organization, the Psychiatrist will be responsible for implementing strategic initiatives and enhancing continuum of behavioral health care.  The Psychiatrist directs and empowers behavioral health staff to establish and maintain an efficient, patient-centered environment ensuring accountability, quality patient care, and patient satisfaction. The Psychiatrist oversees implementation of screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment services for adolescents and adults in primary care and community health settings for substance misuse and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide full scope of psychiatry services including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance.
  • Develops, implements and monitors treatment plans, including prescription of medications.
  • Responsible for the management of all behavioral healthcare provided
  • Leads on-the-job training and assimilation efforts for behavioral health staff
  • Assists in the hiring process by interviewing behavioral health staff

Education Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD).
  • Completion of four year post graduate medical training from an accredited psychiatry residency program.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience practicing psychiatry; 1 – 3 years management experience.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.
  • Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.

Desired Skills:
  • Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
