Job Description
Our client, a nationally recognized, innovative primary and specialty care practice in a state-of-the-art facility in New York City, is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive psychiatric care, including diagnostic interviews, medication, medication reviews, and therapy to patients
- Elicits and records information regarding patient's medical history electronically. .
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.
- Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs.
- Performs telemedicine including phone calls and video calls to patients and records findings electronically.
- Completes charting in a timely manner.
- Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
- Contributes to the development of policies and standards of patient care by participating in committees.
- Complies with the Union Health Center’s policies & procedures related to privacy and security of identifiable patient information (PHI), as explained in the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) training.
- Supports the stated goals and objectives of the Patient Centered Medical Home by working cooperatively with all clinical and non-clinical staff to develop procedures that enhance the Health Center’s team-based approach to patient care.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) required
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Current NY state medical license and DEA registration
- Language proficiency in Spanish a plus
