Job Description
Our client, a prestigious academic teaching hospital in New York City, is seeking a Hospitalist, Internal Medicine Physician to join its dedicated team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven institution serving an urban, ethnically diverse, and underserved patient population. This role is primarily responsible for ward attending coverage of the teaching service, with additional clinical responsibilities tailored to the candidate’s interests and expertise. These may include non-teaching inpatient care, medical consults, and the observation unit. The hospital is centrally located and easily accessible via public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care as a ward attending on the teaching service.
- Participate in non-teaching inpatient rounds, consult services, or observation unit as assigned.
- Engage in educational activities and support medical training for residents and students.
- Participate in quality improvement and public health initiatives.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Valid New York State medical license, DEA, and Medicaid number (or eligibility to obtain).
- Commitment to serving underserved communities.
- Interest in medical education, quality improvement, and public health.
- Prior academic or teaching experience is a plus.
