Job Description
Our client, a leading Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with multiple sites throughout New York City, is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Family Medicine team. This organization delivers high-quality, comprehensive, and affordable primary and specialty care to New York’s diverse and underserved communities. The PA will provide outpatient patient care services, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of conditions across the lifespan.
Responsibilities
-
Provide direct patient care in an outpatient primary care setting, including preventive, acute, and chronic disease management.

Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and manage treatment plans in accordance with established protocols.

Participate in and help supervise Quality Improvement (QI) and Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives under the guidance of the Medical Director.
-
Maintain a consistent patient caseload in line with organizational productivity and quality standards.
-
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Accurately document patient visits, treatment plans, and follow-ups using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
-
Refer patients to appropriate specialty and ancillary services as needed.

Attend staff meetings, peer review sessions, and other required trainings to maintain clinical excellence and compliance.

Support the development and implementation of clinical protocols and procedures.

Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain certification and licensure.

Provide coverage and services at multiple clinic sites within the network, as required.
Requirements:
-
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
-
Active New York State PA license
-
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C)
-
Current DEA license
-
CPR/BLS certification and infection control certification
-
1–2 years of experience in an ambulatory or community health setting
-
Experience with HIV outpatient management is a plus
-
Bilingual ability (English/Spanish or other prevalent NYC languages) is an asset
