Job Description
Our client, a renowned academic medical center and integrated healthcare delivery system, is currently seeking to hire a Physician Assistant (PA), Inpatient Oncology to cover the Day Shift.
Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant (PA), Inpatient Oncology:
- Obtain complete histories and performs pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients
- Keeps the Nurse Manager and Supervising Physician informed as to the needs, problem areas and suggestions, which may be beneficial to service
- Focus on tasks and physician team support for Inpatient Oncology / Solid Tumor
- Consult services in the diagnosis and treatment of various ailments
- Interpret diagnostic testing including but not limited to EKGs, holters, echocardiograms, and stress testing
- Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, examinations screening procedures and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products
- Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds
- Facilitate collaboration between providers
- Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling
- Administer, order, furnish and/or prescribe medications
Requirements:
- Physician Assistant Certification
- New York State License
