Title: Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care
Location: New York, NY

Description: Our client, a non-profit ambulatory healthcare center committed to serving the healthcare needs of its members and their families, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care. The location is in the heart of Manhattan. The center is fully equipped and staffed with physicians of varied specialties, medical assistants and health coaches. This is a traditional outpatient setting with a fixed schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Provides general care and treatment to patients.
- Diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and injuries in general practice.
- Elicits and records information regarding patient's medical history electronically.
- Examines patient to determine general physical condition.
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition.
- Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs.
- Performs telemedicine including phone calls and video calls to patients and records findings electronically.
- Completes charting in a timely manner.
- Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
- Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
- Provides lab and diagnostic test results to patients in a timely manner
- Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
- Performs minor procedures.
Requirements:
- AANP or ANCC board certified Nurse Practitioner
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) highly preferred
- Patient Centered Medical Home / Article 28 Facility experience is a plus.
- NYS license and DEA
- 2 years of NP work experience
