Job Description
Overview
Our client, a nationally recognized healthcare organization known for its commitment to clinical excellence and staff development, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the NICU and Pediatric units.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring optimal staffing, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician and an inspiring leader who fosters collaboration, supports professional development, and champions a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of the NICU and Pediatric units, ensuring high-quality, family-centered care.

Collaborate with the Director to recruit, orient, and develop nursing staff while managing performance and engagement.

Conduct annual competency assessments and coordinate cross-training to meet changing patient volume and acuity needs.
-
Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and assist in capital equipment planning.

Partner with Bed Coordinators, Case Managers, and physicians to enhance patient throughput and ensure timely admissions and discharges.

Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives aligned with hospital and regulatory standards.

Promote a positive work environment that values teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Partner with clinical educators to identify learning needs and implement targeted development programs.

Support patient satisfaction goals and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives.

Maintain compliance with all regulatory and professional standards, including participation in mock codes and ongoing education.
Qualifications
-
Master’s Degree in Nursing (required)
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
-
Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience (e.g., charge nurse, coordinator, or manager)

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
-
Demonstrated success in policy development, process improvement, and team building
-
NRP and PALS certifications required
-
Professional specialty certification preferred (or to be obtained within 2 years of hire)
