Job Description
Our client, an orthopedic subspecialty group affiliated with a major hospital network, is hiring a Neurologist with EMG.
Job Responsibilities:
- Treat general Neurology patients
- Work with Primary care physicians on a consulting basis for patients that show symptoms related to a neurological issue.
- Diagnose neurological disorders and order diagnostic tests such as blood tests and imaging tests to aid in identifying neurological disorders.
- Diagnose and treat patients using Electro Myelography (EMG)
- Diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions that affect the peripheral nervous system and muscles.
- Recording electrical activity in muscles and nerves through EMG.
- EMG Testing**: They perform EMG and nerve conduction studies to assess the health and functioning of the peripheral nervous system. EMG can help diagnose conditions like peripheral neuropathy, myopathy, and nerve injuries.
- Diagnose and manage various neuromuscular disorders, including muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), and peripheral neuropathies.
- Develop treatment plans, which may include medications, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or surgical interventions, depending on the specific disorder.
- Use EMG and nerve conduction studies to monitor the progression of neuromuscular diseases and assess the effectiveness of treatments over time.
- Collaboration with other medical specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with neuromuscular conditions.
- Evaluating and managing conditions that affect the peripheral nervous system and muscles
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in neurology
- Board certified in Electro Myelography (EMG)
- Required COVID vaccination
- EMG (Electromyography) training
