Job Description
Our client, a leading independent teaching hospital at the forefront of innovative medicine, is seeking an Associate Medical Director, Internal Medicine Physician to lead a dynamic, multi-specialty resident training site. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician who is not only passionate about teaching but also excels at engaging and inspiring internal medicine residents. As the site lead, you will play a key role in both clinical care (80%) and administrative/teaching responsibilities (20%), shaping the next generation of internal medicine physicians while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership & Direct Patient Care
- Manage an average of 18-20 patients per day
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Lead a physician-driven environment with strong support staff (RNs, LPNs, Nurse Manager, Paramedics, and Front Office Staff)
- Teaching & Resident Precepting
- Serve as a dedicated mentor and educator for Internal Medicine residents (4 per day, 20 total rotating)
- Conduct 3-4 precepting sessions per week
- Provide hands-on teaching in an 80/20 clinical-to-teaching mix
- Ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment where residents feel valued and motivated
- Leadership & Administration
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Nurse Manager to oversee site operations
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and innovation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and resident education
Qualifications
- Board-Certified (BC) in Internal Medicine
- A proven leader with a few years of experience in clinical practice and medical education
- Strong ability to engage and inspire residents—someone who fosters a positive and productive training environment
- Passion for teaching and demonstrated effectiveness in medical education
- Ability to navigate a multispecialty environment and work within a collaborative team
- Open to H1 Visa candidates
