Job Description
Our client, a reputable healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical education, is hiring a Nocturnist, Internal Medicine Physician. This vital role involves providing comprehensive inpatient care during overnight shifts, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through diligent assessment, diagnosis, and management of diverse medical conditions. As a Nocturnist, you'll collaborate with healthcare teams, support educational activities for residents and medical students, and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. The position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on patient lives while participating in a dynamic, engaging healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver overnight inpatient medical care from 8 PM to 8 AM, managing new and existing patient cases with professionalism and expertise.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment plans and ensure continuity of care.
- Mentor and teach residents, medical students, and junior staff, fostering educational growth and clinical competence.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practices and patient safety.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Eligible to obtain a New York State medical license.
- Strong interest in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining high clinical standards.
