Job Description

Our client, a leading non-profit organization that helps abused, neglected, and traumatized children heal physically and emotionally through compassionate, quality care, is hiring an IT Project Manager. The IT Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects, with a focus on the implementation of a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT project management within healthcare environments, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
Location:  Hybrid 1-2 days in office (could be Bronx, Brooklyn or Pleasantville)


Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables for IT, IT projects and EHR implementation projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Allocate resources effectively and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between IT teams, healthcare providers, and vendor representatives.
  • Facilitate communication and ensure all stakeholders are informed of project progress, changes, and challenges.
Risk and Issue Management:
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to IT and projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project performance and address challenges proactively.
EHR Implementation Leadership:
  • Oversee all aspects of the new EHR system implementation, system optimization, data migration, and integration with existing systems.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure the EHR meets operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and data security requirements.
Budget and Resource Management:
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Report financial status and variances to leadership.
Training and Support Coordination:
  • Collaborate with training teams to design and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users.
  • Provide post-implementation support and ensure seamless transition to the new EHR system.
 
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management.
  • Proven track record of leading IT system projects including an EHR system implementations in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with IT systems in healthcare, including interoperability and data security.
Certifications:
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
  • Certifications related to healthcare IT (e.g., CPHIMS, HIT certifications) are highly desirable.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications and EHR systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
