Job Description

Our client, a teaching hospital in Brooklyn, is seeking to hire an English/Chinese speaking Hospitalist Physician to better serve the Asian Community. Full time day positions are available for physicians with leadership experience as well as junior attendings who want to develop their career in a dynamic and expanding Division. Hospitalists play a central role in enhancing the quality of patient care and medical education. Proficiency in Mandarin and or Cantonese is essential for this position. Opportunities are available in quality and patient safety initiatives, house staff and medical student education, and research. 

Responsibilities:

  • Full Time
  • Provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses 
  • Play a critical role in providing high-quality care to hospitalized patients, focusing on collaborative decision-making and delivering exceptional patient care
  • Oversee and manage the care of hospitalized patients 
  • Conduct patient admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning to ensure comprehensive and seamless care
  • Work closely with nursing staff, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and consultants to ensure cohesive and high-quality patient care
  • Provide updates to patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team regarding care plans and progress
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using the EMR system
  • Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and procedural details in a timely manner
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions effectively to patients and their families
  • Address questions and concerns with empathy, ensuring patient and family satisfaction
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to hospital policies that enhance patient safety and outcomes
  • Stay informed about advancements in hospital medicine and implement evidence-based practices in patient care
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency
  • MD or DO
  • Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine
  • License to practice medicine in NYS
  • New York State Medical License
  • English/Chinese speaking Hospitalist to better serve the Asian Community
