Job Description

Our client, a leading multi-specialty physician practice committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the Hudson Valley region, is hiring a Gastroenterologist. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient gastrointestinal care within a collaborative, technologically advanced environment, supporting community health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary disorders.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, polypectomy, biopsy, and hemostasis.
  • Manage chronic GI conditions such as IBS, IBD, GERD, liver disease, and oversee colorectal cancer screening.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory results, imaging, and pathology reports.
  • Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with current clinical guidelines.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, clinical meetings, and ongoing medical education.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Supervise Advanced Practice Providers as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
  • Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Active and unrestricted New York State medical license or eligibility.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Proven commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems.
