Job Description

 

Our client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their multidisciplinary team. The FNP will provide high-quality, comprehensive care to patients of all ages in an outpatient setting, with a strong focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of acute and chronic conditions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams, patient histories, and diagnostic evaluations for individuals across the lifespan
  • Develop and manage individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other members of the care team
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform appropriate procedures within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives and team-based care meetings
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, as well as state and federal regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current New York State licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC)
  • DEA registration and current BLS/ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred, though strong new graduates may be considered
