Title: Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician, Primary Care

Description: Our client, a non-profit ambulatory health center committed to serving the healthcare needs of its union members and their families, is hiring a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician, Primary Care.
Responsibilities
- Provides general medical care and treatment to patients
- Diagnoses and treats variety of diseases and injuries in general practice
- Elicits and records information regarding patient's medical history electronically.
- Examines patient to determine general physical condition
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition
- Administers or prescribes treatments and medication
- Performs telemedicine including phone calls and video calls to patients and records findings electronically
- Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases
- Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease
- Provides lab and diagnostic test results to patients in a timely manner
- Reports outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities
- Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment
- Performs minor procedures
- Contributes to the development of policies and standards of patient care by participating in committees
- Supports the stated goals and objectives of the Patient Centered Medical Home by working cooperatively with all clinical and non-clinical staff to develop procedures that enhance the Health Center’s team-based approach to patient care
- Case load: <20 patients per day
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board certified/eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Licensed to practice in the State of New York
- Language proficiency in Spanish a plus
