Description:  Hiring a Faculty Physician for a combined MD/DO Family Medicine residency program affiliated with a Federally-Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) Network.   The residency is a participant in the HRSA Teaching Health Centers programs, with residents training in 3 distinct community health centers located in urban, college town, and rural settings.   Faculty are eligible for appointment at affiliate medical schools.   The Family Medicine Residency Faculty Physician’s responsibilities include direct patient care in ambulatory and inpatient settings, (obstetrics is optional), teaching and supervising residents/medical students, curriculum development, and scholarly activity.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician who wishes to have an impact upon the next generation of Family Physicians, working within a progressive and dynamic organization

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care
  • Regularly participate in clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs and conferences
  • Demonstrate scholarship through research, publications and presentations at local, regional or national professional and scientific society meetings.
  • Dedicate at least 60% of time (24 hours a week minimum) to the teaching program, exclusive of patient care with residents. Devote majority of professional effort to teaching, administration, scholarly activity, and patient care within program
  • Establish and maintain professional, courteous and respectful relationships with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the health care team
  • Precept residents, medical students and other health professional trainees as appropriate

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program in Family Medicine
  • NY State Medical License
  • Board certified in Family Medicine
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • Current DEA Certificate

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate superior clinical and teaching skills
