Job Description

Our client, a reputable organization dedicated to community health and behavioral services, is hiring a Director of Revenue Cycle. This pivotal leadership role offers an opportunity to shape the financial health of a dynamic organization through strategic oversight of revenue cycle and billing operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive revenue cycle strategies to enhance billing accuracy, reduce denials, and optimize reimbursement across all service lines, including OASAS-certified residential programs, outpatient services, Medicaid managed care, and commercial insurance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a billing team, establish KPIs, and implement reporting systems to track and improve revenue cycle performance.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, program leadership, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and financial sustainability.
  • Lead process improvements within billing workflows and oversee vendor relationships to support efficient, compliant operations.
  • Oversee the entire revenue cycle from intake and eligibility verification to collections and denial management.
  • Develop policies, procedures, internal controls, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor and report critical KPIs such as net collections rate and denial rates, analyzing trends to enact corrective measures.
  • Manage billing for complex services, ensuring compliance with Medicaid, OASAS regulations, and payer requirements.
  • Lead billing for outpatient and residential programs, including per diem billing and documentation.
  • Manage relationships with billing vendors, clearinghouses, and technology providers.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, preparing for audits and reviews.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop billing staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Drive system and process improvements leveraging data analytics, supporting new program launches, and service expansions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OASAS residential and outpatient billing.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid (FFS and Managed Care), behavioral health billing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven leadership and staff management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
