Job Description

Our client, a large medical center, is seeking a Director of Patient Accounts to lead business office operations and revenue cycle functions. This role involves overseeing billing, denial management, cash posting, outpatient coding, customer service, vendor relations, and audit processes to optimize revenue and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators for billing, collections, and receivables.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS requirements.
  • Lead and manage staff development, hiring, and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to address payer and operational issues.
  • Optimize vendor partnerships and manage system enhancements.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and lead process improvements.
  • Manage department budget, payroll, and operational expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and hospital billing systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Tableau and Allscripts experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Critical thinker with attention to detail and adaptability.
