Job Description

Our client, a leading community health organization dedicated to expanding access to women’s health services and improving community health outcomes, is hiring a Director of OBGYN (MD or DO). The Director of OBGYN will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for Women’s Health across multiple sites, overseeing a growing department with a focus on access, quality, and community engagement. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of balancing direct patient care with program development, staff management, and community outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the OB/GYN service line across all clinical sites, including prenatal, obstetrics, gynecology, family planning, and women’s preventive care.
  • Supervise OB/GYN providers, managing clinic templates, access targets, provider coverage, including after-hours/on-call duties.
  • Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, ensuring compliance with HRSA, UDS, and relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and expand women’s health services and programs.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and incident learning processes.
  • Manage provider onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a patient-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care environment.
  • Provide full scope gynecologic care, managing consults and escalation for advanced procedures as needed.
  • Partner with outreach teams to advance maternal health initiatives, perinatal education, and community events.
  • Support grants, program reporting, and new service development.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Board Certified in OB/GYN.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in OB/GYN, including at least 2 years in leadership or administrative roles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of FQHC operations and experience serving diverse populations.
  • Ability to be flexible and travel between multiple sites, including evenings when necessary.
  • Willingness to participate in rotation with after-hours on-call duties.
  • Creative approach to relocation to accommodate local candidates; a relocation package is considered.
  • Ability to navigate multiple clinical sites
