Job Description
Join a leading provider of chemical dependency treatment as Director of Nursing, responsible for overseeing the Nursing Department's leadership and development, ensuring high-quality care delivery, and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Nursing Department, overseeing Nursing Units, Personnel, Infection Control, Employee Health, and Pharmacy.
- Ensure the safe and effective delivery of nursing care, available 24/7 for emergencies.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including JCAHO, DEA, OSHA, OASAS.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and long-range plans aligned with organizational philosophy.
- Supervise and train staff on medical assessments, emergency response, MMTP verifications, vitals, medication distribution, and EMR entries.
- Oversee medication management, patient discharges, dietary needs, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with Senior Management & Medical Director to support organizational mission and vision.
- Conduct quality assurance initiatives, chart reviews, and ensure consistent care delivery.
- Recruit, train, and orient nursing staff, ensuring adherence to organizational competency program.
- Monitor quality of laboratory, pharmacy, and emergency services.
- Provide regular reports to the Executive Committee, outlining achievements and setting goals for nursing services.
- Manage staffing, ensuring adequate coverage and developing educational programs to enhance staff skills.
- Conduct interviews and recruit qualified candidates to build a treatment-engaged team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters’ degree preferred
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure with the NYSED
- Current basic life support for health provider (BLS) and CPR/First Aid and AED
- 3+ years of Management Experience
- Experience in alcoholism and substance abuse preferred
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resistance from patients effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and with a team
- COVID-19 vaccination
