Job Description

Our client, a premier community teaching hospital located in the metropolitan New York area, is seeking to hire a strategic and dynamic Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will lead HR operations and drive initiatives that foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement for a large health network near Greenwich, CT. This role will oversee key HR functions, including talent management, employee relations, with support and a working relationship with organizational development. The Director will collaborate with leaders across the organization to align HR strategies with the health system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, and compliance.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead initiatives focused on talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee the administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations matters, offering guidance and resolution strategies.
  • Monitor HR metrics and leverage data to make informed decisions and recommend improvements.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing HR teams.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing HR strategies that drive organizational success.
