Job Description
Our client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a Director of HRIS. The full-time Director, HRIS will lead the management and optimization of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), with a focus on Workday. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving HR technology initiatives, ensuring seamless system operations, and delivering actionable analytics to support organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in HRIS leadership, preferably within healthcare settings, and demonstrated expertise in optimizing Workday functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday and other HR technology platforms to ensure seamless functionality.
- Ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison for system upgrades, enhancements, and vendor management, fostering productive partnerships.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of HRIS processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Gather, analyze, and report HR metrics and data from various sources, including HRIS, employment records, labor statistics, and competitor benchmarks.
- Manage and audit employee records in the HRIS and electronic filing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide reliable data insights to support HR initiatives, including performance management, compensation, onboarding, and recruitment projects.
- Generate and deliver custom reports from the HRIS to meet organizational needs.
- Collaborate with the IT department and external vendors to resolve application issues and coordinate system updates or upgrades.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of HR operations processes and best practices.
- Lead the installation, development, customization, and enhancement of applications, systems, and modules to support evolving business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field. (Masters Preferred)
- 5+ years of HRIS experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role within a healthcare setting.
- Proven expertise in Workday implementation, configuration, and management.
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, etc.).
- Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
