Job Description

Our client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a Director of Finance and Analytics. The Director of Finance and Analytics holds the critical responsibility of supervising the financial operations of a busy department. The Director of Finance will provide leadership and coordination of the health networks internal and external financial reporting and financial operations, including direct supervision of Financial Reporting and Accounting. In this role, you would promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the finance strategies that align with the mission and objectives of the organization.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization to increase efficiency within financial reporting.
  • Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Oversee cost reporting and proforma
  • Ensure the hospital's financial transactions and records are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare the monthly internal reporting package for executive teams.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor budget performance and prepare forecasts to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics to support decision-making by hospital leadership.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff in financial matters.
  • Work with external auditors for all audits and preparation of tax returns.
  • Responsible for improving processes, controls, and quality over monthly close and financial reporting.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 5 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership with demonstrated accomplishments, preferably in the healthcare industry and / or a public accounting background.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
