Job Description
Our client, a reputable healthcare provider specializing in community-based services, is hiring a Dentist. The Dentist role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive oral health care in a dedicated clinic environment. The position involves delivering high-quality dental services to diverse patient populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in a trusted community setting. This role is vital to improving oral health outcomes and ensuring accessible dental care.
Responsibilities
- Perform general dentistry procedures: screening, evaluation, filing cavities, prophylaxis, root canals, and applying sealants and stainless crowns.
- Diagnose dental diseases and develop treatment plans based on diagnostic data.
- Screen for oral cancer and interpret periapical X-rays.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene practices and encourage follow-up visits.
- Make referrals for specialized treatment not available in-house.
- Monitor and maintain dental inventory and equipment, ensuring adherence to OSHA and health regulations.
- Supervise dental staff, including Dental Assistants and Hygienists.
- Participate in case conferences, dental quality improvements, and staff education presentations.
- Assist in administrative functions such as documentation and EMR entries.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant clinic environment, including proper biohazard disposal.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Valid New York State dental license and registration.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pediatric and adolescent dentistry.
- Ability to speak Spanish or other languages is a plus.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient care and safety standards.
