Job Description
Our client, a prominent healthcare provider known for its commitment to excellence and patient-centered care, is hiring a Controller to lead its financial operations and ensure robust financial stewardship across the organization. As a key executive, the Controller will oversee all accounting functions, lead a dedicated finance team, and work closely with senior leadership to shape strategic financial initiatives. This role demands precise financial management, adherence to accounting standards, and proactive financial planning to support the organization’s ongoing growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to organizational expectations.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and procedures in producing timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage the monthly close process, including financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and ensure accurate cash accounting.
- Perform updates and reconciliations using Quickbooks.
Cash Flow & Financial Planning
- Manage organizational cash flow, collaborating with Executive Leadership to ensure adequate funding for all operations.
- Prepare daily cash flow reports and cash projections.
- Develop forward-looking financial models, including predictive and activity-based financial planning tools.
- Coordinate annual budget development and ongoing budget monitoring.
- Conduct monthly budget vs. actual (variance) analysis to support proactive decision-making.
- Generate financial business plans and forecasting as needed.
Compliance, Controls & Systems
- Ensure compliance with short-, mid-, and long-term financial plans and forecasts.
- Maintain financial systems and oversee all accounting technology functions.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and sound financial procedures.
- Oversee the processing and management of weekly and bi-weekly payroll activities.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure proper and timely filing of tax returns.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all legal, regulatory, and healthcare-industry-specific financial requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Cycle to ensure optimal cash collection practices.
- Support operational departments with financial insights and reporting as needed.

Requirements:
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Healthcare industry or physician group experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
