Job Description

Our client, a prestigious and well-established real estate investment and management firm with a strong presence across New Jersey is hiring a Commercial and Real Estate Paralegal. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a collaborative, sophisticated, and family-oriented culture in a dynamic legal environment. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the successful candidate will play a crucial role supporting complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, and loan facilitations, within a well-organized, drama-free setting that values efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive paralegal support for commercial real estate transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and preparing legal agreements and documents related to property transactions.
  • Conduct thorough title and survey reviews to ensure accurate property information.
  • Coordinate with lenders, title companies, surveyors, and other third-party vendors to facilitate smooth closings.
  • Oversee and maintain organized legal files and monitor proper execution of documents.
  • Support the management of credit facilities, including processing letters of credit and related extensions or cancellations.
  • Assist with commercial lease administration, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Handle corporate matters, including entity formation, maintenance of corporate records, and filing of annual reports.
  • Support land use submissions and other legal approvals as required.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure seamless transaction workflows and maintain high standards of accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegal.
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, including familiarity with surveys, work titles, and related documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English.

Other Requirements:

  • On-site presence at Jersey City, NJ, with flexibility for occasional travel to other company locations.
  • Willingness to work a standard 40-hour week, with capacity for occasional extended hours to meet transaction deadlines.
