Job Description
Our client, a leading healthcare organization committed to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering innovative nursing practices, is hiring a Chief Nursing Officer. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) serves as a vital leader within the organization, overseeing all nursing operations and driving strategic initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational efficiency. This executive role requires a visionary leader capable of fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and cultivating a culture of excellence in nursing practice.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all day-to-day nursing operations, aligning clinical performance with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement facility-wide nursing education programs, operational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee performance improvement initiatives, regularly assessing facility performance against system-wide objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, medical staff, and other departments to coordinate clinical strategies and operational standards.
- Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts to maintain a high-caliber nursing workforce.
- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with unions and facilitate effective communication channels and forums.
- Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including bioethical considerations and public policies.
- Participate in budgeting and resource allocation to support high-quality patient care and operational sustainability.
Requirements:
- Valid New York State RN license and current registration.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 6 years in management or administration.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in union environments, Magnet designation, and senior nursing roles.
- Excellent strategic planning, communication, and change management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with external partners.
