Job Description

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead its newly established Wound Care and Value Based Medicine Division. The COO will be responsible for driving the division’s growth, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality wound care services. This individual will also oversee the Home Service lines, ensuring these innovative programs are successfully integrated and scaled. The COO will play a critical role in shaping the division’s success in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.

 

Location: Chicagoland Area

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Wound Care Division, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader organizational goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities in wound care services, including partnerships, new markets, and service line expansion.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
  • Provide operational oversight and strategic direction for the Home Service lines, ensuring integration and alignment with the Wound Care Division.

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance with healthcare regulations, and exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement standardized protocols for wound care treatments and misting technology deployment.
  • Oversee the implementation and performance of the Home Service line, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with patient care standards.
  • Manage resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and technology investments, to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.

Financial Oversight

  • Create and manage budgets for the Wound Care Division, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, address inefficiencies, and drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop accurate forecasts and monitor revenue cycle performance.

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of clinicians, operational staff, and sales professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered culture within the division.
  • Implement professional development programs to ensure team members remain at the forefront of wound care innovations.

Sales & Market Expansion

  • Partner with the sales team to develop strategies that promote wound care services to potential clients.
  • Drive market penetration in Chicagoland and surrounding regions, ensuring competitive positioning.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies proactively.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven track record of leadership in a healthcare setting, preferably in wound care, post-acute care, or a related field.
  • Experience in scaling new service lines or divisions within a healthcare organization.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational execution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of wound care treatments, industry standards, and healthcare compliance.
