Job Description

Our client, a world-class, patient-centered, academic medical center, has an opening for Category Manager of Perioperative. We are actively seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Category Manager to bring their expertise into a thriving healthcare system. This individual will play a pivotal role in creating efficiencies, achieving financial savings, and delivering added value for our Clinicians and Associates.  As the Strategic Sourcing Category Manager/Perioperative, the selected candidate will assume responsibility for various aspects within the OR category, including contracting, negotiation, vendor management, savings/efficiency initiatives, and analytics. Working closely with the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing, they will drive standardized spending practices and capitalize on opportunities to realize savings through collaboration with organizational leaders. Key responsibilities encompass identifying, vetting, presenting, and executing OR contracting and savings opportunities while considering all pertinent clinical, financial, regulatory, and operational factors. Moreover, the Category Manager will accurately document all initiatives, actions, and achieved savings in adherence to the health system's guidelines. If you believe you possess the qualifications and experience necessary for this role, we encourage you to apply and become an integral part of our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic clinical strategic sourcing, project management, systems and procedures.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of expense management strategies and processes for reducing supply expenses while not forfeiting quality of care.
  • Work with a system value analysis team. This involves product research, cost/reimbursement analysis, analysis creation, source to contract for clinical category(s), and presentation development in support of value analysis process.
  • Manage RFP development, supplier evaluations, vendor negotiations, communication of recommendations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
  • Monitor and report compliance for system-wide contracts; identify recurring trends and key opportunities for vendor or internal improvements.
  • Monitors, communicates, and makes improvements to product utilization within assigned categories.
  • Collaborates with physicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization in support of initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. BS Science or Business Administration Degree. Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ contract management experience with a focus on clinical supply and equipment spend.
  • GHX/EDI Inventory Management Software (preferred)
  • Medical Surgical Distribution (preferred)
  • ERP or SAP Contract Management Software (preferred)

Salary: $125,000 - $160,000. This salary range is not a guarantee. The actual salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and education and could fall outside of this range. Contact us for more information.
