Job Description
Our client, a dynamic and growing multi-specialty physician practice, is seeking an experienced Business Support Manager to serve as the strategic and operational liaison between clinical departments and the central billing office. This critical role is responsible for driving revenue optimization across the entire revenue cycle by identifying opportunities, implementing scalable solutions, and delivering insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate combines operational savvy with analytical rigor and excels at translating data into action. This is a high-impact role with visibility across finance, operations, and clinical leadership. The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Cycle Leadership: Lead revenue cycle management across multiple clinical departments with a focus on identifying optimization opportunities in registration, charge capture, charge edits, denials, and write-offs.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Develop professional revenue budgets in collaboration with client departments and analytics teams. Evaluate the financial impact of new programs and hires, and report on budget variances throughout the fiscal year.
- Strategic Communication & Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly KPI presentations to senior leadership, including A/R Days and Aging, Charge Lag, Unsigned Encounters, Denial Rates, and Budget vs. Actual performance.
- Claims & Denials Analytics: Create, analyze, and interpret A/R reports to identify trends in commercial and government payer denials. Translate findings into actionable recommendations for process improvement within claims and billing teams.
- Business Planning Support: Collaborate with clinical leaders, business development, and strategy teams to develop revenue forecasts for expansion projects and innovative service lines.
- Provider Performance Metrics: Monitor and present provider productivity data, benchmarked internally and externally. Create supplemental analytics to support clinical leadership in performance evaluations and resource planning.
- Operational Improvements: Analyze trends in patient billing complaints and implement process changes to improve patient satisfaction and prevent future issues.
- Performance Presentation & Project Execution: Deliver high-quality presentations with clear explanations of key performance drivers. Ensure timely completion of follow-up actions from meetings and project plans supported by data insights.
- Provider Access Metrics: Track and report changes in no-show and cancellation rates. Monitor appointment availability and recommend improvements to provider scheduling templates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or a similar business support function in a healthcare setting.
- Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, create performance reports, and translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
