Job Description
Tal Healthcare is seeking a dedicated full-time Associate Vice President of Physician Services to join a health system in the NY Metro area.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Health Network and is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive physician recruitment, onboarding, retention, and relations program for the entire health system. This position is responsible for supporting and assisting with all aspects of new physician and advanced practitioner recruitment and will also be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and long-range plans to retain the best physicians within the health network. The AVP is responsible for nurturing and maintaining excellent relationships with existing and referring physicians and their office staff, as well as identifying and developing new referral sources. The AVP will lead the strategic vision for Physician Recruiting and Physician Services staff and serve as the cross-functional manager for the onboarding of new physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Implement processes for supporting leadership in the selection, recruitment and staffing of physicians and advanced practitioners.
- Assist in developing a strategic, long-range Physician Recruitment/Retention program.
- Develop methodology for measuring and reporting on recruitment and retention outcomes to leadership.
- Cultivate relationships with regional and local residency programs to create a pipeline for the network.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Develop and manage department budgets.
- Lead, develop and participate in the interview process for physicians and advanced practitioners.
- Create data structure for volume tracking and reporting. Analyze market data, referral volume and marketing plans.
- Develop and analyze reports for trends on inpatient/outpatient utilization patterns and report outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain CRM.
- Identify and work cross-functionally with network to eliminate barriers for physicians.
- Collaborate with leadership of each department/service line.
- Maintain and supervise documentation of the physician services representative and report market data to leadership.
- Ensure issues raised by community-based physicians are addressed and resolved.
- Work with marketing to develop recruiting resources and educational materials.
- Understanding of Stark/Anti-Kickback laws and regulations.
- Support value-based payment activities throughout network.
- Drive and grow referral activity by touring providers to other offices and create systems to minimize leakage of physician and ancillary services.
Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred in health leadership disciplines
- Minimum 5 years' experience at the Director level or higher
- Certified Physician Practice Management (CPPM) Executive certification preferred
- Nurse leaders with practice management experience considered
