Our client, a full-service medical center and teaching hospital in the New York Metro Area, known for delivering high-quality patient care, advanced medical research, and a commitment to medical education, is seeking an Associate Executive Director of Facilities Management/Support Services. This is a high-impact role where you'll lead and oversee a variety of essential functions, including Facilities Management, Support Services, Construction/Capital Management, and Engineering. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital’s facilities, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight: Supervise multiple departments, including Engineering, Maintenance, Environment of Care, and Construction. Drive the development, establishment, and implementation of philosophies, policies, and standards across Facilities Management and Support Services.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of Performance Improvement Plans in alignment with the hospital’s strategic objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure the successful completion of goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage administrative procedures, workflows, policies, and systems to maximize facility use for patient care. Implement and monitor metrics to drive improvement, optimize resources, and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee budget preparation and cost management for personnel, supplies, and equipment within all divisions of inpatient operations. Ensure resource allocation aligns with departmental needs while maintaining cost awareness.

  • Compliance & Quality: Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and government regulations. Review and revise emergency management practices and command center operations as needed.

  • Project Management: Lead construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. Oversee work order processes, preventive maintenance, and change management to maintain optimal performance.

  • Staff Development & Human Resources: Partner with Human Resources to manage recruitment, training, retention, and performance evaluation. Conduct training programs to keep staff updated on new or revised processes, ensuring competencies align with hospital standards.
