Description: Hiring an Assistant Director of Food Service for a healthcare organization that provides a continuum of care.  Reporting to the Director of Food Service, the Assistant Director of Food Service will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Food Service Department and kitchen to produce a very high volume of meals each day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Train and supervise staff
  • Establish work schedules and tasks for staff
  • Develop menus and supervise staff in cooking and preparing food
  • Coordinate food for meetings and special events
  • Open and close the kitchen

Education Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited culinary school is strongly preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • Five years of leadership experience working in large dining or catering facilities
  • Prior experience working in large healthcare facilities is desirable

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of international cuisine; menu planning; food production, presentation and purchasing
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards
  • Strong supervisory, organizational and excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and food production software
