Job Description
We're hiring an Assistant Director of Reimbursement to play a pivotal role in our organization. As the AD, Reimbursement, you’ll drive the direction of the networks’ Reimbursement Department, overseeing its planning, organization, budgeting, and control. You'll collaborate closely with various hospital stakeholders on financial matters and analysis, requiring excellent interpersonal skills. Your responsibilities will include guiding and developing personnel, ensuring the smooth processing of financial information, and leveraging data from diverse sources to inform decision-making. Prioritize the quality and integrity of data collection and presentation, making attention to detail a must.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strong Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement experience needed. Prefers both Medicare and Medicaid but if out of state Medicare is a must.
- Strong cost reporting and auditing experience needed for annual audits from New York State.
- Responsible for understanding relevant financial and operational issues. Understands decision support and cost accounting methodologies. Possesses an extensive knowledge of current regulatory and reimbursement issues. Ensures that compliance and regulatory requirements are adhered to and up to date. Possesses a good understanding of reimbursement rate methodologies.
- Develop a partnership across departments to improve processes and reporting of information.
- Collects, analyzes, and presents complex data from multiple sources to support decision-making.
- Ensures quality and integrity of data collection and presentation.
- Assists in directing the Reimbursement Department, including reviewing work, providing leadership, and motivating staff.
- Develops, implements, and monitors adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Assigns and prioritizes projects to meet filing deadlines.
- Reviews and redesigns internal processes to optimize technology use for timely, quality information.
- Manages time effectively for individual and team completion of tasks and projects.
- Identifies financial opportunities and risks proactively, communicating findings effectively and promptly.
- Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits trustworthiness, integrity, and initiative.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
- Displays a strong work ethic and versatile skill set to tackle ongoing challenges.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Masters preferred.
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
