Job Description
Our client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Cardiologist to join a growing ambulatory cardiology practice with a teaching hospital in the NY Metro area. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated clinician with a passion for providing comprehensive cardiovascular care in an academic, team-based environment. This position is primarily outpatient-based, with responsibilities including inpatient consults, ongoing cardiac care management, and diagnostic interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality outpatient cardiovascular care, including initial consults, follow-ups, and diagnostic services.
- Participate in weekend hospital rounding on a rotating basis (typically 1 in 5 weekends).
- Take home call (shared evenly 1 in 5 nights/weekends with the cardiology team).
- Engage in women’s cardiovascular health initiatives and develop focused prevention programs.
- Interpret and perform cardiovascular imaging studies as per training and credentials.
- Collaborate closely with primary care, OB-GYN, and other subspecialists on integrated care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient education, and preventive health strategies.
- Participate in teaching or clinical research, depending on interest and experience.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship Program
- Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Eligible for licensure in the State of New York
- Commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care
- Prior experience in an academic or teaching setting is preferred, but not required
