Description: Hiring an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a large Physician led outpatient Medical office. The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will conduct relevant physical exam and evaluate patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings. The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will perform physicals and formulate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
  • Performs physicals
  • Formulates diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Orders and interprets laboratory tests and x rays
  • Provides Patient education and counseling
  • Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent findings.
  • Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness.
  • Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
  • Orders laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets results.
  • Provides preventative health services, including health education and counseling.
  • Collaborates with clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) OR Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education Department
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant License OR Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYS
  • Current Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR Current New York State Registration as Nurse Practitioner
  • Current Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting body
  • Be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment

Experience Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred in Level III ER or UCC
  • Experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory emergent healthcare setting

Desired Skills:

  • Medical Spanish preferred
